Paris Major: a week with 81,000 spectators at Roland Garros

14 September 2026

The images of a sold-out Philippe-Chatrier for the finals of the Alpine Paris Major have gone around the world, confirming how Roland Garros has now become the most important location to play an international padel tournament. The fifth edition of the Premier Padel Major has also broken a record: 81,000 spectators gathered at the Bois de Boulogne to enjoy the show of Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero (winners of the tournament), and, more generally, of all the strongest pairs on the planet. This figure represents an increase of 17,000 spectators (+26.5%) compared to the 64,000 attendees at the Paris Major in 2025. On the day of the finals, the Philippe-Chatrier recorded a sold-out crowd of approximately 15,000 fans, coming close to the historical record set last May for the semifinals of the P1 in Buenos Aires, when 16,920 spectators filled the stands of Parque Roca.

These are the special atmospheres that are being created in the great arenas around the world, both outdoors and indoors: just a week ago, over 14,000 spectators attended the P1 in Madrid in a single day, while in July the P1 in Málaga also exceeded the 10,000 spectators mark in a single day. Similar attendances are expected for the Tour Finals, which will take place in December at the Palau Sant Jordi (tickets are already on sale). And, staying within the Major circuit, the Foro Italico provided the perfect setting for the finals in June in Rome, with 9,000 spectators filling the stands of the Central Court. In a country like Italy, attendance figures for the P1 in Milan, scheduled for October, continue to grow: the 2025 edition recorded over 35,000 spectators at the Allianz Cloud, a venue with a capacity of about 5,500 seats.

Playing in packed stadiums and arenas is a trend that now characterizes the Premier Padel circuit tournaments worldwide: in 2025, over 600,000 spectators watched live matches in the 23 tournaments on the calendar, in addition to the fans who fill the clubs hosting events of the CUPRA FIP Tour every week and those who follow the national team competitions. Wherever padel is played, the show is guaranteed, both on and off the court.
