Padel has been included in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

After the announcement of padel as an official sport at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has confirmed its inclusion as a medal discipline in the program of the upcoming Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG), which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 13 to 21, 2026. The debut will be at the Padel Rush Arena, an avant-garde structure in Riyadh that already hosts the P1 of the Premier Padel. National federations recognized by their respective National Olympic Committees will participate with an official team composed of a male and a female pair. A maximum of 12 national teams will take part in the tournaments. “The inclusion of padel in the program of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games represents an extremely significant moment in the global development of our sport,” stated Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation. “Its presence in a major multisport event under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia — whom I thank on behalf of all those who love padel — confirms the strength of the international project that we are carrying out together with national federations and reflects the growing expansion of padel in Asia. We look forward to working with the OCA, Padel Asia, and our federations so that the values of sport — excellence, respect, and friendship — can contribute to creating new sporting and cultural opportunities for future generations.” With participation in this major multisport event, the International Padel Federation achieves a strategic milestone in its global consolidation, with a particular focus on the Asian continent. Inclusion in the AIMAG further strengthens the presence of padel within the Olympic movement and confirms the rapid growth of the sport in Asia, where in recent years there has been a significant increase in practitioners, infrastructure, and high-level competitive activities.
